Effective July 1, 2012 Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) will be relocating a number of its services from its West Valley campus at the Milken Center to a satellite JVS office in Sherman Oaks. The Milken Center building has been sold by the Jewish Federation, and will be closing on June 30.
JVS currently delivers services to our refugee and immigrant clients and offers an at-risk youth program out of the Sherman Oaks site. Clients currently receiving service at the Milken campus are also being directed to JVS’s two full-service WorkSource Centers in the mid-Wilshire district and Marina del Rey.
“JVS is committed to maintaining a continuity of service to San Fernando Valley residents, particularly in the face of this difficult job market and the challenges faced by job seekers throughout our city,” says JVS CEO Vivian Seigel. “We currently have several pending proposals for additional funding to expand our reach within the Valley. JVS will maintain a vibrant presence within this community."
The part-time JVS staff members who currently deliver services four days per week at the Milken campus have each been offered other opportunities within the agency. We encourage job seekers to visit our website at www.jvsla.org for updates on service offerings out of the Sherman Oaks campus, and for information on our comprehensive range of career counseling, job training and placement programs throughout the city.
