Robertson Family Gives Additional $100,000 to Robertson Family Endowment

1-18-2012 –  Continuing a family legacy of charitable involvement,  former JVS Board President Susan W. Robertson, her husband Carl, their daughter Cara and their son Chip along with his wife Carrie, have given JVS an additional $100,000 to the Robertson Family Endowment Fund.

“With this significant and generous gift, the Robertson family will help JVS provide much-needed services and programs to this community and beyond for generations to come.  Susan and her family have been and remain steadfast supporters of this organization and work we do.” said JVS CEO Vivian Seigel.

A JVS board member since 1994, Robertson served as President from 2001-03, a period which saw the agency open its first WorkSource Center in West Hollywood, launch its Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training program HealthWorks™ and establish its first CoffeeWorks program to provide on-the-job training to people with disabilities. Robertson has also championed MaturAbility, JVS’ program targeting the needs of mature job seekers.

“From an early age, I learned the importance of giving back to the community.  I am honored to have the opportunity to enhance JVS’s ability to provide much needed programs and tools to the community.  As my parents, Carmen and Louis Warschaw, and grandparents, Leo and Lena Harvey, taught me, I hope that my children and grand-children will carry on my family’s philanthropic traditions within JVS and in the community as a whole,” said Susan Robertson.
