JVS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE ONLINE
JVS Jewish Community Scholarship Fund Applications Available December 1st .
Los Angeles, Calif., (November 30, 2001) JVS, www.jvsla.org, a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that helps people find work and redirect their careers, announced that Jewish Community Scholarship Fund applications will be available for the first time online at www.jvsla.org, beginning December 1st. Completed applications must be received by April 15, 2002.
The Fund has awarded over $2.2 million since its inception in 1972 - including $271,500 in 2001. This year, 131 students received scholarships ranging from $750 to $5,000.
Any Jewish post-secondary student who is a permanent, legal resident of Los Angeles County and can demonstrate financial need may apply. Applicants are required to be in a full-time accredited undergraduate, graduate, or technical program in the U.S.A. Students must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form with their school. In addition to applying online, students may contact Jeanie Gaynor at JVS by phone or email.
